Every egg cup contains approx. 12 discarded egg shells. This bioplastic composite has high hardness and strenght, is durable and hard-wearing, water repellent and dense. When handled with care, it can last up to 15 -years or more. Under controlled composting conditions, it can degrade in 24 days.

By considering matter's potential, Atelier Barb's egg cup illustrates nature's circular schemes. Everything in nature revolves in a seamless loop of order, which inspires its form and making process.

This eggcup is biodegradable since it is made of upcycled egg shells. It is manufactured by hand without the use of industrial machines, and the waste materials are acquired from local businesses. Due to the handcrafted nature of the product and the properties of the waste matter that is used, colors and textures may vary slightly.

Atelier Barb's eggwares can be re-manufactured due to their zero-waste production technique; which means no by products throughout the manufacturing process. They use waste as a medium to form products that are equal parts unique and innovative.
